me some coffee. I accepted and we sat down to talk. The coffee was terrible
but I didn't say so.


"Bob, I have to admit I'm here under false pretenses. I noticed when I was
here before that you have no help and need it badly. Have you thought about
hiring a secretary to help out?"


"I've thought about it Carl but haven't had the time to do a search and I'm
not at all sure I could afford one any way. Why do you ask?"


"I'm asking because Jenn has told me she wants to get a part time job.
She's qualified and if she worked only four hours a day it would be less
expensive for you and fill her needs too."


"It sounds like a plan Carl. Can you tell me about her qualifications?"


"I can do better than that. If you'll let me go on line with your computer
I can show you all you need to know."


Bob agreed and logged on line with his PC and then let me at it. I went to
my Yahoo mail account and selected the one with Jenn's resume'. I asked Bob
to print it out and he did. I gave him a few minutes to read it and he
looked very impressed.


"Carl I think you've solved my problem. Jenn seems to be perfect for the
job. I could use her from ten to two each day as she indicates. That would
be enough for her and since I don't open until nine it would cover the
busiest part of my day too. The salary she asks for is well within my
range. It seems a little low to me but I can always give her a raise if it
seems warranted. What do you think?"


"I think you should pick up the phone and call her right now before she
finds something else."


He did as I suggested and in five minutes he had a new secretary. She had
agreed to start the next day and Bob was delighted. I got the papers I had
come for and left.


On the way home I stopped briefly at the girl's schools. I went into the
office and showed them the papers. I had them change the names on the
records for June and Julie and made sure I was listed as guardian not just
friend on Jill's records.That would give me full rights in any situation
that might come up.


When I arrived home I was very nearly bowled over by a very happy lady.
Jenn was in my arms and hugging and kissing me so fast I didn't have any
time to react. She was very pleased with my sneaky plans outcome. She
thanked me profusely and I just smiled. She told me she needed to get some
clothes that were suitable for a lawyer's office and I just gave her the
car keys and told her to go get what she needed. Before she left I gave her
copies of the papers I'd picked up and told her what I had done at the

After she left I told Callie about changing the girls names at school. She
was very pleased and admitted she had forgotten about it. She told me the
girls would be thrilled when they heard. I would soon find out how right

It was late spring and the weather was nice and warm with lots of sunshine.
There would only be a few more weeks of school and then the girls would be
out for summer vacation. I spent the afternoon in front of my PC looking
for places to go and things to do on a family vacation. I saved a few
things for later discussion and then logged off.


Callie and I were sitting on the couch talking when the door burst open.

It was June and Julie. It seems the offices at their schools had called
each of them in just as school was letting out. In each case they thought

They hurried off to do as I told them and about then Jill came in.


"What's going on Uncle Carl? I got out of school and was looking for the
others when I saw them running home without me. Is everything okay?"


I explained what had happened and she smiled and agreed that it was good
reason to run home. Then I told her about the change in her records too. I
couldn't give her my name but I was listed as her legal guardian. That
seemed to please her. I told her to go get out of her school things and
bring her homework out to me. We were all going to work on it together.


June and Julie were first out and we were starting on their work when Jill
came out with her's.


"Where's mommy Uncle Carl?"


I explained about the job and told her about the hours. She was happy to
hear that her mom would still be home most afternoons when she got out of
school. She had liked Bob and thought it was cool for her mom to be working
for him.


The five of us settled down to the homework. Callie and I let the girls do
it themselves but watched and helped if they got stuck. It went well and
they were done by the time Jenn returned with an armload of packages. She
opened them right there in the living room and showed us what she'd be
wearing to work. We all agreed the outfits were just right for the job
she'd have.


It was soon time for supper. Callie and Jenn had something ready in no time
and we all enjoyed a good meal. As I ate my supper I looked at the family
and thought I could see signs of some added weight. They seemed to be
filling out nicely since they were getting full and regular meals. When we
finished eating we left the girls to do the cleanup and we adults went into
the living room to talk.


"You know I've been worried about all of you being so undernourished. I've
been thinking about it and I've decided that I want you all to have
physicals. We can make appointments for each of you with a family
practitioner. I suspect there are some things we may need to watch and
perhaps help with. For instance your periods. I hadn't thought about it
before Jill started hers. Like most men I don't think of that until it gets
in my way. I'm sorry for that and I think it's time to see if you are all
okay. I think the other girls might be running late with their first
periods because of their health."


They started to argue and claim they were all in good shape but I'd have
none of that. I insisted and they gave in. I told them I'd call the doctor
I'd seen and get a referral from him the next day. They agreed and I let it
go.


There was also the matter of ID cards for Callie and the girls. They were
now my dependants and as such were allowed certain privileges. But they
needed ID cards to get in most places on base. I told Callie I'd check on
schedules and take them all out to the base after school as soon as
possible.


When the girls finished cleaning up after supper they came out to join us.
I took a moment to remind them of my 'condition' and age. I told them we
needed to set some ground rules so that nobody was left feeling they
weren't getting enough attention. They agreed that it was probably a good
idea to set something up.


I suggested that we start with a day off for me since my weekend had been
rather vigorous. Then I'd start with Callie, then Jenn and follow with the
girls in age order. That seemed fair to them. I said I'd take two days off
after each rotation and more if I needed it. I also pointed out the problem
of their periods. It was decided that I would still spend time with them
but they would have the choice of whether we did anything. They all agreed
it sounded like a fair plan. It was also suggested that any of them could
trade or just pass on their turn if they wanted to for some reason.


After I got their full agreement I left them to watch a romance movie on
TV. I wasn't in the mood for it so I logged on to my PC. I'd been thinking
about all that money in my savings account. I thought I should find a place
for it that would earn me some profit. I spent a good deal of time that
night and many times after that, searching for stocks and bonds and
investments. It would be June before I made my decision on where to invest.


The evening was soon over and we all went to bed. Since it was my night off
from sex Callie expected me to just go to sleep.
