The house smelled of fresh baking, but the only sound came from the TV room, where her husband Sam sat watching the sport. The visitors had never arrived; it had been a casual arrangement discussed only the day before with a couple she and Sam had known for some time. What puzzled Lena was the telephone call she had received from her best friend Yolanda. She had absently mentioned the fact that their mutual friends Kevin and Nina might be stopping by during the call and now she regretted discussing the matter at all. Out of the blue that morning Yolanda's husband Mark had dropped off their daughter earlier that morning, mumbling something about going home to have a shower and returning later with Yolanda. The hours had gone past quickly and at lunchtime Lena had called Yolanda to find out weather they would be joining them for lunch, but had only managed to reach the answer service. The call Lena was pondering came later in the afternoon, Yolanda had finally phoned to see how her daughter was doing, she told Lena that she and Mark had gone to Kevin and Nina's house and that Kevin had gotten her stoned. She said she was absolutely famished now and they were going to the bazaar for some food before picking up their daughter. Yolanda had passed the cell phone over to Nina who was driving with them to the markets and she said that they had expected to drop by, but time had gotten away from them unfortunately and they would try to pop in on the way home for a few minutes. Yolanda had taken the phone back and asked how her daughter was and Lena told her she was fine and then Yolanda said she would see her later and hung up. Lena had sat staring at the phone for a while before turning to her husband and telling him what had happened. He shook his head and chuckled sarcastically before telling her that she was stupid for confiding in Yolanda about anything to do with their plans with other friends. Lena made her hot chocolate in silence and then wandered into the sunroom, it was the strangest thing but she just couldn't get around this new game her so called 'best friend' had started to play. Yolanda had always been a game player, from the first moment Lena had met her, Yolanda had been more of a competitor or a rival, hiding beneath the guise of friendship. Nick had been the first boy Lena had ever really fallen for in high school and somehow he was the integral point of Lena meeting Yolanda. Nick had told Yolanda that he was interested in Lena, of course Lena hadn't known at the time, then when Yolanda befriended Lena she was quick to tell her about the crush she had on Nick. Lena had backed off when she had realized the extent of Yolanda's emotional attachment to Nick, to the point of actually working as matchmaker for Yolanda and Nick. She had told Nick that if he was interested in Yolanda that he should ask her out, that she would rather stay friends with both Yolanda and him than risk losing both of them if their relationship didn't work out. Nick had told her that he loved her and that she was the one he wanted to be with, but Lena had resisted and Nick eventually asked Yolanda out. Nick and Yolanda's relationship lasted just over a year and as Lena had hoped all three had remained friends. Lena had dated a couple of guys during Nick and Yolanda's time together, but there had not been anyone serious in her life until she met Ian. Ian was sporty and good looking, popular with all the girls at school and Lena had quit innocently confided in her best friend Yolanda. It was two weeks before Lena found out that her friend Yolanda had slept with Ian at a party one weekend while Lena was away. The story went that they had gotten pretty drunk at this party and Yolanda had come on to Ian pretty strong. They had been feeling each other up in one of the main rooms then moved to the spare bedroom where Ian had removed most of her clothes then fucked her half on the bed and half off. Some of the other partygoers had walked in accidently and the gossip started almost immediately the day they returned to school. Lena also heard what Ian had said about Yolanda being 'easy' and had decided that if he was the type of guy to gossip about the girls he went out with then he definitely wasn't the right guy for her. Yolanda had backlashed at his nasty comments with the information that he had a tiny little wiener and that he was quite a forgettable fuck. It wasn't too long before Lena found a new love interest, he was from another school and his name was Eric. He was tall and blonde, with a gorgeous smile; Lena was smitten, but due to past experience hesitated in confiding her interest in him with Yolanda. She had spoken to a girl in one of her classes that also knew Yolanda, so it wasn't long before her friend was asking her about this new guy. Lena had tried to brush it off as a passing infatuation but Yolanda pressed for details, even asking a few of their friends about Eric. Three weeks later Yolanda was sitting on Eric's lap at his house while Lena and the others partied around them. Lena had been heartbroken but had set it aside, telling herself that Yolanda was much better looking and had a much more attractive personality than her so it was to be expected that the guys would go for her. Lena always felt that no guy was worth breaking her friendship with Yolanda; if they were more interested in Yolanda then she wasn't going to lose any sleep over them. Yolanda always said she just had 'the knack' meaning the knack of wrapping any guy around her little finger and as far as Lena was concerned Yolanda was right. On her sixteenth birthday Lena went on holidays with Yolanda and her family, the beach resort where they stayed was full of families on holiday and there was plenty of opportunity for holiday romance. On the first day Yolanda and Lena had met a couple of local guys who worked on a fishing trawler, instantly Yolanda started working on the cute guy called Patrick. Lena had talked casually to his friend and they were both invited to a bonfire on the beach later that night, Yolanda had assured her that even though they were a bit older it would be a blast. At the bonfire Lena had found herself sitting alone with Patrick's friend Michael, she had been a little self conscious about the age difference and tried to brush off any advances as casually as she could. Yolanda disappeared over the sand dunes with Patrick; Lena knew what they had gone to do and feeling a little uncomfortable she had gone to find Yolanda. What she saw was two dark shapes silhouetted on the pale sand; Yolanda's head was in Patrick's lap, bobbing up and down, he had his hands on the back of her head guiding her pretty mouth up and down his cock. Lena wanted to walk away but as she started to move Patrick pushed Yolanda's head up and kissed her, his long cock glistening in the moonlight. Then he rolled Yolanda onto her back removing her panties and spreading her legs, he licked at Yolanda's pussy making her tilt her head back and moan 'yes' loudly. Lena was still a virgin at this stage and she was shocked by what she saw but intrigued at the same time, she watched Patrick arrange himself between Yolanda's legs, his pants half way down his thighs. Then Patrick's buttocks began pumping away between Yolanda's legs and both of them were grunting and groaning as they rolled around in the sand. Patrick's thrusting body was slamming into Yolanda's slender form and she was holding him tightly to her while he suckled at her large firm breasts. Lena had prudently backed off as quietly as possible and returned to the bonfire, the soft sexual moans following her through the darkness until she reached the warm glow of the bonfire. Patrick's boat left the next day, but later that week they had met a couple of young guys who were on holiday with their parents and to Lena's surprise the taller one called Derek had seemed interested in her not Yolanda. When they talked later Yolanda had bemoaned the fact that she had 'lost her knack ' Lena had relented and decided to seem disinterest so that Derek would give Yolanda the attention she seemed to crave. Pretending to be interested in Derek's friend was too hard and eventually Lena had decided to stay by the resort pool and read while Yolanda spent time with Derek. When the holiday finally ended, Derek and Yolanda seemed inseparable and they all decided to stay in touch. A couple of weeks later Derek had surprised Lena by calling her, they talked for hours on the phone, finding they had much in common. They kept in touch by phone and one night Derek admitted he had really been interested in Lena, but Yolanda had been so 'pushy' as he put it, he had asked her out instead. Lena had put it all down to games, rivalry and an incessant need to compete for attention, she stood by Yolanda when she thought she had fallen pregnant to Patrick. He wouldn't answer Yolanda's calls and there was no way of getting a message to him without Yolanda's mother finding out. As far as Lena was concerned guys were all just out for one thing and they were not worth losing a friendship over. Yolanda and her were like sisters and nothing was ever going to persuade Lena otherwise. It never once occurred to Lena that it might actually be Yolanda's overt promiscuity that attracted the opposite sex like flies to a honey pot. The news was better later that month when Yolanda informed her with much relief that her monthly had just been late and she was not actually pregnant. Lena and Yolanda had drifted apart through work and travel; in that time Lena had taken a fairly negative view on the male gender. She felt that men were only after one thing and there was no reasoning to the how, where, why or whom they got it from. Lena eventually caught up with Yolanda again after a few years and their 'sisterly' relationship resumed. Nightclubbing and generally living it up as young single women did they went through several short-term relationships before Lena met Sam. That had been a turning point in their relationship. Sam was Lena's perfect man, sweet natured, easy going and cultured with a great sense of humor. She fell in love with him immediately, there was never any question as to whether he was the right for her or not, Lena knew instinctively that he was the one. Yolanda was not happy, she moaned that she would have no one to go out clubbing with now that her best friend was settling down. Lena assured Yolanda that they would always be friends and that she would always find the time for her, even when she did get married to Sam. This didn't seem to convince Yolanda and Lena began to notice the strangest bond beginning to form between Yolanda and Sam. Sam was relaxed with the opposite sex, with two sisters, one older and one younger, he had no hang ups about communicating with women. A couple of times Lena had noticed the overly affectionate body language between Yolanda and Sam, at one stage she had walked in and they had been sitting at the dining table, facing each other and Yolanda's bare foot was resting on the front of Sam's chair between his legs which were spread wide. They were both sitting back quite relaxed in their chairs but the scene resembled one of a couple sitting intimately together. It had seemed a little too close for Lena and she had confided her fear to Sam when Yolanda had gone. Sam said he just thought Yolanda was trying to call his bluff, but the final straw was when the three of them attended a wedding of a mutual friend. The mother of the bride had asked her daughter which of the two women accompanying Sam was his fiancé. She said she couldn 't tell because he had seemed equally affectionate with both Lena and Yolanda throughout the night. The day after Sam confided in Lena that Yolanda had kissed him passionately when no one was around and that was the moment that Lena had put her foot down. She had told Sam that if he wanted to be with Yolanda that he should tell her right then and end their engagement. Sam assured her that there was no chance of him ending his relationship with her and that Yolanda always came on strong but he had always just seen it as her playing around and stringing him along. It had been then that Lena had stood up to Yolanda, she had told her that Sam was the man she intended to marry and that she wasn't going to back down this time. She told Yolanda that if she wanted her to choose between their friendship and Sam then Sam would win out. Yolanda had backed off and accepted her choice, but it had not ended there. For the next few months Yolanda hinted, cajoled, insinuated and practically begged that Lena and Sam let her join them for a threesome. It started out as a joke, but quickly became a serious pursuit until Yolanda persuaded Sam to try and convince Lena that it might be fun. Eventually a furious Lena told her friend that she had once again pushed the envelope too far, again if she kept on about threesome's the result would be a major rift in their relationship. Yolanda backed off, she even found herself a boyfriend Ellis, but she turned her frustration on a rather confused Sam. Suddenly she was telling people how she hated Sam, that he was a sissy, even going as far as to call him a pretty boy or a gay boy. Her new boyfriend picked up the thread; his sarcasm and total disregard for Sam was obvious in his manner whenever they spent time together. Fortunately Yolanda separated from Ellis and after a few more months she met the man she would finally marry. Mark was a strong partner for Yolanda, she needed it and they eventually married and built a lovely life together. Everything had been going fine, Yolanda was occupied with work and home life and Lena had thought their friendship was going along quite well. That was until recently, when Yolanda told her about spending time with their friends Kevin and Nina. They had been home one night and decided to contact Lena's friends to go out, which had surprised Lena and Sam because they had originally met through them and they usually all went out together. It was odd that they had not bothered to contact Lena and Sam for dinner as well and Lena had asked Yolanda about it next time they spoke. Yolanda had brushed it off by saying they had not bothered to contact Lena and Sam because it was spontaneous and they couldn't be bothered ringing around and organizing things. Lena had been a little hurt at the time, but this had been added to when Kevin and Nina explained that Mark had been telling them things about her, things that were not altogether true, but related to a time well before Mark had known Lena. It had to have been something Yolanda had told him, but as it had not been entirely accurate she wondered if it had been Mark or Yolanda who had related the information in such an unflattering way. As Lena sipped her hot chocolate and pondered the very basis of her friendship with Yolanda there was a knock at the door. It was Yolanda and Mark, she walked out and greeted them in a subdued fashion, asking if they would like some of the cookies she had baked for her guests that had never turned up. She asked if they had enjoyed their day and why Mark had said he would be back in a few minutes that morning but had not returned till the afternoon. Yolanda tried to brush the whole thing off by telling Lena that Kevin and Nina were not reliable and that she thought it would be better if they met up with them at their house as the had intended to catch up with them anyway. Lena thought about this and although the explanation did make sense, there was no reason why Yolanda, Mark, Nina and Kevin hadn't called or come over for the whole day. Lena shrugged it off and when Kevin and Nina came over she offered them cookies too. It seemed as if Yolanda had finally found a game that could replace the 'get the boy first' game. Lena decided Sam was right about her learning not to discuss their other friends with Yolanda and Kevin, it would be difficult but somehow she knew she would manage.
