care to see some new scenes being developed in the Ginny Harris
segment of volume two. They're mostly in note form but
nonetheless quite readable and may give you a few nice moments.

CRITICAL ENCOUNTER AT THE CANNES FILM FESTIVAL I like Cannes.
It's expensive and gauche but it's fun and I used to spend as
much time there as I could. Ginny loved it too and we'd often

wonderful diversion all year round but Film Festival fortnight is

Ginny had suddenly become rather shy. She was normally quite
gregarious. Meeting new people never phased her but she was
withering under the glare of Serge Rubinoff's headlights. She
smiled a little tightlipped smile and returned her attention to
Michael Douglas. Under the table, she sought out my hand and
gripped it hard. But she'd made the mistake of leaving her other
hand in sight, gripping her glass with the knuckles almost white.
Milan leaned forward and, in a deft and well-practiced movement,
prised her fingers away from the glass and lifted them to his
lips. He kissed her hand and said "You are very lovely, Ginny
