In sum, everyone's surfing. Go into any household with a computer, internet connection, and a young male in residence and you're likely to find BODACIOUS BABES - XXX and HOT YOUNG PUSSY jpegs left carelessly all over the workspace. Go into any house with a young female, and chances are she's either reading or writing sexually explicit X-Files, Star Trek, or other fanfic. Or knows of places to find it. How the world has changed in a year. On the plus side, there is more neterotica available and the sites are increasingly better organized and designed as the creators receive access to web building and photoimaging software. Not only are people sharing their stories, but their lifestyles as well, and, especially in the BDSM and gay communities, cataloging and indexing sources of supplies, services, and organizations for these groups. On the down side, there's also a lot of dreck (German for garbage) mainly poorly designed commercial sites. Also on the down side, certain providers, such as Geocities and Tripod, have been cracking down viciously on sites they believe violates their terms of contract. How they can shut down a site for porn while overlooking while allowing fanfic ones--which in many cases feature more explicit sex--to operate is beyond me. Perhaps this is the reason for the large amount of growth erotic fanfic has experienced in 1998, which sites featuring everything from Ripley of "Aliens" fame to the Thundercats. Little has changed in the ASS newsgroups, with spam still being the major annoyance. Celeste decided to call it quits, but it remains to be seen if writers can take up the reviewing slack. I hope everything works out. Advice from one's peers is the most useful of all. In sum, this year has been a most enjoyable one for me, especially in investigating new websites to share with you all. My hobby overfloweth my mind of smut. Take care, and keep writing, reviewing, and reading the speculative fiction of the greatest circus on the net.
