The "Grudgingly Good" rating indicates that I think the story is well written, but that I find some of the elements in the story so disturbing that if I were to review the story based solely on my personal tastes I would give it a "Not Good" rating. The "Not Good" rating indicates that I do not like the story. ----- Arousal Factor - This is a measurement of how arousing I found a story to be. Story Factor - This is a measurement of how good I found a story to be, devoid of whether there is a lot of sex in it or not. In determining the story factor I take into consideration the plot, the characters, and other more technical aspects, such as spelling and grammar. Possible values for Arousal and Story Factor are, in ascending order: Nonexistent, Low, Average, High, Ultra ***** REVIEWS ----- Rogue Review No. 283 - December 15, 1998 Miss Rene and Tommy by Schulzie F/m, M-solo, F-solo, Teen, Pedo Length: 25,200 words Rating: Excellent Arousal Factor: Ultra Story Factor: High SUMMARY Rene (29, mother of two, recently divorced) seduces Tommy her 13-year-old next door neighbor. COMMENTARY This story kept my attention, to say the least. There is not much sex in it, but there is plenty of build up. The whole story basically consists of Rene teasing Tommy until she finally jumps in bed with him. Tommy happens to be extremely well endowed for a boy his age. Rene feels that she needs to introduce him to sex, because the size of him cock will only scare younger women off. Rene is more than just a woman who wants to have sex with her next- door-neighbor. She has some doubts and fears about what she is doing. Tommy is not extremely deep, but this is not his story as much as it is Rene's. This story does contain pedofilia, which I normally do not care for. The fact that it was an older woman taking advantage of a boy in his early teens helped. I cannot see enjoying a similar story in which an older man seduces a 13-year-old girl. This is a sexism, on my part. There is one scene that made me cringe, while I was reading it. In this scene, Tommy is baby-sitting for Rene and is helping her two daughters, ages 4 and 6, to bathe themselves. In retrospect I do not think there is anything morally wrong with that scene. Simply put, I cringed because I was not sure what the author was doing with the scene. I feared, because I saw potential for the story to go in a direction that might make me violently ill. The story did not, but I felt obliged to mention it in my review. COMMENTARY I searched high and low, but could not find any short comings in this story. Both of the main characters seem real to me. For that matter, so does the majority of the supporting cast. The plot is very nicely paced. The story develops as it proceeds. Its appeal is not based solely in how the author sets it up, but all so in how the author executes it. What I really liked was the interaction between Miranda and Rob, both verbal and nonverbal. I think the author does a wonderful job of clueing in the reader as to how both of them are feeling and thinking. This is not a science-fiction story. If you want to know what the device is, then read the story. You will not be disappointed. Maria is having trouble breastfeeding her newborn. COMMENTARY The scope of this story is somewhat limited. Most of the action takes place inside the ladies room at the zoo. Jackie narrates the story. She also does most of the talking. The story is arousing, but I prefer to see more dialogue and a plot that is a little more involved than this one is. COMMENTARY This story has some arousing scenes in it. There are others scenes that do not work for me. In particular, the scene in the bar, went too quickly for me. It did not feel like the author had taken the time to set the mood; instead he just jumped straight to the action. It felt like the tone of the story was dictated, rather than depicted. I did find the sex arousing, but feel that the story left something to be desired. Length: 8,500 words Rating: Very Good Arousal Factor: High Story Factor: Average SUMMARY Fifteen-year-old Nicki spends the summer with her Uncle Steve, at his cabin in the mountains. COMMENTARY What I like about this story is the way the author fleshes out the characters by putting the reader first inside the head of one and then inside the head of the other. I also like the way the story begins. The author seems to be taking things slowly, and building up to the sex. I do not care for the way the story ends. In particular, the scene where Nicki passes out and her uncle ties her up. She seems to enjoy herself when she wakes up, but something rubbed me the wrong way about this scene. There is also a mention of Steve having slept with several 12-year-old girls. It is not described, so I did not include the appropriate coding above.
