Could you please post it to the newsgroup alt.sex.stories.moderated. Thank you. Rose Miller sat on the couch of the cabin, she listened to the sound of the rain on the roof, sipped her wine and stared at the fire in the fireplace. She had rented the cabin for a month, at a little hideaway ranch at the foot of the Rockies, and was enjoying the solitude it afforded. It was her third day at the cabin, she looked around the room again, and for a moment wished someone was there with her. She shook her head, trying not to think about work or her exhusband, she closed her eyes and sighed. She remembered being called into the office at work, the manager had been very nice to her until she insisted that she didn't need any time off, and he studied her face for a full two minutes. "Rose, you're a wonderful worker, and probably the best clerk we've ever had working here," he'd said as he looked at the dark circles under her eyes. "So I'm going to make it easy for you, take a month off or start looking for a new job. Now, the Company is willing to pay part or all of your expenses for this, we'll even make your reservations if you want." Rose had looked at him in amazement. "Thank you, but.... I really don't know where to go, or what to do." The manager smiled. "What you need is a nice quiet place to just relax, without any one disturbing you, and where you can do as you feel. We have a cabin in the mountains, company owned and maintained, and currently not in use. Sound good to you?" He showed her a few pictures of the place, she had agreed, and he had made the arrangements. Rose chuckled as she remembered how he had picked her up in a limo, drove her to the airport, and personally put her on the plane. "Your job will be waiting for you when you're ready to come back," he'd told her. "If you need more time just let us know and we'll make sure everything is covered. Have fun." Rose jumped as boom of thunder shook the cabin, she walked over to the window, pulled the curtain back and looked out at the rain. She let the curtain fall back into place, sat down on the rug in front of the fireplace, and pulled her robe tighter. She poured herself some more wine, sipped at it and sighed contentedly. After a few minutes she loosen the robe, the wine and the heat from the fire were making her drowse, and she thought about some men that she knew from work. She stretched out on the rug, ignoring the way her robe fell open, and she closed her eyes. She drifted off to sleep, dreaming of what some of the men would do if they were there with her, and what she would like to do to them. She wasn't sure what woke her, the fire had burned down to embers, and she restoked it carefully. She sipped her wine as she watched the log catch fire, listening to the light rain on the roof, and glanced at the time. "Midnight," she thought to herself. "The witching hour, a time when strange things happen, and ghosts walk the night." Rose jumped when she heard a horse whinny, she stood up, pulled her robe closed around her, and sat there listening for any other sounds. She shook her head after a minute. "Spooked myself with all this talk about ghosts." A chill went up her spine when she heard the sound of boots on the front porch, her eyes followed the sound of their movement, and they stopped at her front door. She sat there barely breathing, waiting for something to just walk in the door, and do something horrible to her. She stood as the knock came, drawn to the door by her imagination of what could be out there, and unable to stop herself from opening the door. She looked up at the man that stood in the doorway, he was a head taller than her 5'8" height, and his skin was bronzed from many years in the sun. She almost gasped when she looked into his grey-green eyes, her heart skipped a beat as he looked at her, and she felt giddy. "Sorry to disturb you at this hour, Ma'am," he said softly. "But I was wondering if I could borrow your porch until it stopped raining?" Rose looked at him, he was thoroughly soaked, and she answered without thinking. "You're soaked to the bone," she said as she pulled him inside. "And will probably catch a chill out there." The man allowed himself to be pulled inside, he removed his soaked hat, and stood by the door quietly. Rose took his hand, she lead him to the bathroom, and told him to dry himself off while she went looking for something to wear. She watched as he sent down a Winchester rifle, noticing for the first time that he carried it, and that he wore a pistol on his hip. She closed the door, then went to look for some clothes, and found a robe hanging in the closet. She went back to the bathroom, handed it to him through the door, and went to put on some coffee. After starting the coffee she went back to the bathroom, took his clothes, and put them in the dryer. She found him sitting in front of the fireplace, his eyes were closed, and she took the opportunity to study him. His body was lean, tanned like rich leather, and she could see a few scares on his back. He turned to look at her. "I wish to thank you for your hospitality, Ma'am, aren't too many would be this generous with a stranger." Rose noticed the rifle and pistol near the fireplace, well within reach, and positioned for a quick grab. Rose smiled at him. "I was just in the mood for some company." The man smiled as he looked her over quickly. "Name's Jason. Jason Daniels," he said with a soft smile. She sat down next to him. "Rose Miller. What brings you up into the mountains?" Jason chuckled. "Down is more like it, cougar went after my livestock, and I went to hunt it down. Found out it was a hungry mother, so I let it live, and started back down. That's when the rain started, rode for hours looking for shelter, and that's when I saw the light from the cabin." Rose nodded. "I'm glad you let her live, I'm also glad you found your way here, and that I could help." For a long minute they were both quiet as they looked at each other. "Coffee's ready." Rose nodded numbly, then his words registered, and she jumped up to get the coffee. She poured the coffee for them. "Get a hold of yourself Rose, you don't know anything about this guy, and yet he's got you so horny you can't think straight," she told herself. Rose picked up the tray with the coffee, then went back to the fireplace, and set the tray down near him. She forgot about her robe as she knelt down, his eyes found her open robe, and rested for a moment of the fur between her legs. When she looked into his eyes she found herself drawn into their depths, her heart pounded in her ears, and her mouth went dry. She couldn't tear her eyes away from his, she could feel a wetness between her legs, and felt her nipples hardening. Jason reached for her slowly, his hand opened the belt of her robe, he pushed it off her shoulders and gazed at her naked charms. She trembled as his fingers traced paths of fire over her body, she whimpered as she waited for his kiss, and finally pulled him to her for one. She melted against his body, hungrily she pushed his robe off, and reached for his manhood. She moaned with desire as his tongue tasted her flesh, she urged him to join with her, and sighed as he settled on her. She shuddered as he entered her, her body racked by the spasms that swept through her body, and she cried out her release. He held still for a moment, then he began to stroke into her, gradually he began to increase his speed and varied the depth of his penetration. Rose felt a tightening in her belly, she urged him to go faster, and began to meet his thrusts with her own. Jason gritted his teeth as he neared the edge, his hips moved with ever increasing speed until both of them shuddered, and collapsed together. Rose sighed happily as he rested on her, his warm weight adding to the to her warmth, and she drifted off to sleep. She awoke the next morning by the fireplace, she sat up, and felt the passion of the night before. She looked around the room for Jason, she noticed that his weapons were gone, and she instinctively knew that he was too. She went into the kitchen, poured herself some of the coffee, and discovered that it was fresh. She took a shower, then slipped on a light dress, and went out to the porch. She stood looking up at the sky for a few minutes, then looked at the forest that surrounded the cabin, and wondered where he could have gone. She sat down on the porch steps, sipped her coffee absently, and wondered at the way she had given herself so freely to him. "Even when I was married I was never as eager as last night," she thought. "What makes last night so special? Why did I invite him in? And why wasn't I afraid of him?" She sighed heavily. "I must be as burned out as they say I am, maybe I was so drunk I just imagined it, and convinced my body of the same thing," she thought. Rose looked up when she heard the jeep approaching, she stood as it rounded the bend, and pulled up by the house. She smiled at the man that got out, he greeted her warmly, and looked the house over. "Well it looks like she stood up to that storm pretty good," the Ranger said. "Have any problems with power or anything last night?" Rose shook her head. "No problems at all. Can I get you some coffee?" The Ranger nodded. "I'd appreciate that, Miss Miller." Rose looked at him curiously. "How did you know my name?" The Ranger chuckled. "Got a call from your office in Chicago, seems that the manager heard we were getting a storm, and he wanted me to check on you." Rose shook her head. "I should have guessed, sometimes he acts just like a father to me, and sometimes I feel like he is my father," she said as she headed into the cabin. The Ranger followed her in. "I'll tell you I didn't mind coming up here, wanted to let you know that there's a cougar on the loose up here, and to keep your door closed." Rose nodded. "Just a hungry mother looking to feed her young." The Ranger stopped in his tracks. "Now how would a Chicago lady know anything about cougars? Especially since there ain't been one in this area for thirty years?" Rose poured him some coffee. "Jason told me he followed her into the mountains, found her lair, and that she had young she was trying to feed." The Ranger took the coffee cup. "Who's Jason? And why was he tracking her?" "Jason's a rancher in these parts," she explained. "She went after some livestock he had, so he went after her, got caught in the storm last night, and stopped off here to get warm." The Ranger almost dropped his cup. "Did this Jason have a last name?" Rose nodded as she sipped her coffee. "Daniels. Jason Daniels. Do you know him?" The Ranger shook his head. "Don't know him personally, know about him though, and I'll tell you in a minute. What did Jason look like?" A chill went up Rose's spine. "A head taller than me, black hair, grey-green eyes, and tanned like fine leather. He carried a Winchester rifle, a pistol on his hip, and rode a horse." The Ranger nodded. "That's his description alright. See, Jason did go after that cougar, may have even found it, and did get lost in a storm like last night." Rose swallowed hard. "What aren't you telling me?" The Ranger sighed. "Ninety years ago they found him and his horse at the bottom of a cliff, seems the rain blinded them so bad they couldn't see, and walked right off the cliff. About every ten years we see cougar tracts, then he shows up at someone's place, and spends the night. I doubt if you'll see him again though, he never goes to the same place twice, least not that I've heard of anyway and they disappear after three nights." Rose sighed, she watched him set down the cup, and leave the cabin. She followed him to the door. "Thanks for stopping by to check on me." The Ranger looked at her for a moment. "If you need anything, or just want to talk, just call the station and we'll be more than happy to oblige." She watched him drive away, then turned to go into the house, and closed the door. Rose sat on the couch trying to think, she was in shock from what the Ranger had told her, and yet she knew in her heart that Jason had been real. Rose sat out on the front porch for most of the morning, she watched as the clouds rolled in, and finally went inside. She sat down on the couch, picked up he wine bottle, and poured some into her glass. She looked down into her glass, then her eye was drawn to an object on the floor, and she picked it up. She examined it for a minute, a solid gold coin with an eagle on both side, and looking almost brand new. She felt the hair on the back of her neck stand up as she looked at the date, 1885, and she knew that he had been there. She thought about what the Ranger had told her, the rain had blinded him to the cliff, and he had missed it. She figured if she could keep him there until morning then she could break the loop he was in. She laid down for a nap, woke up about nine that night, and started getting ready for his arrival. She opened the curtain halfway, made sure that a light was visible from outside, and started a fire for them. She hummed softly as she fixed up some food for them, made sure there was coffee ready, and put on a nice silk gown. She sat on the couch with a cup of coffee, thinking about him, and wishing he was there already. She dreamed of what a life with him would be like, riding the range with him, and being his woman for all time. She smiled as she heard the sound of a horse approaching, she watched the window, saw him look in and moved to open the door for him. Jason stood at the door with his hat in his hands. "I wasn't sure if you'd want me to come back." Rose smiled up at him, she pulled him inside, closed the door and bolted the door. Jason stood looking at her in the silk gown, he watched her as she closed the drapes, and took his wet clothes off of him. Jason looked around the room, he noticed how everything was set up, and looked back at her. He watched as she approached with the towel. "If you were expecting company I can leave." Rose smiled up at him as she started drying him off. "This was in case you decided to stop by again, I was hoping you would come back, perhaps to stay for a while and we could get to know each other." Jason smiled down at her. "Why do I feel that comment should scare me?" Rose smiled at him shyly. "Maybe your instincts are telling you my interest in you is more than just sexual, that you're not scared by it means settling down has crossed your mind, and you may want to get caught." Jason took a deep breath. "Woman, your touch is setting me on fire." Rose smiled up at him seductively, she dropped the towel, sank to her knees and filled her hands with him. Jason watched as she stroked him gently, then saw her tongue snake out to taste his flesh, and she smiled up at him again. Jason watched her as she teased him to hardness, her tongue traced paths of fire through him, and he shuddered as the pleasure washed through him. He moaned as he felt the warmth of her mouth engulf him, her tongue licked sensitive spots, and she grazed them lightly with her teeth. Jason looked down when he felt her mouth leave him, she stood up in front of him, and let her gown fall to the floor. Jason sucked in his breath as she posed for him, his eyes drank in her beauty, and his passions rose to a fever pitch. Rose smiled as she sank to her knees again, she slipped his hardness into her mouth, and began to work on it again. Jason tried to pull her up but she refused. "I want to taste it." Jason held onto her shoulders, he closed his eyes again, and concentrated on the feelings she was causing. A deep growl in his throat alerted her to his imminent eruption, and she increased her attack. He shuddered as his seed erupted from him, she greedily drank it down, and cleaned his deflating shaft. Jason leaned against the couch as he watched her stand. "You are an amazing woman, Rose." Rose smiled at him. "Only with you, Jason, not with any other." She lead him around the couch, sat him down on the rug, then brought out the food she had prepared and sat down with him. She picked up a piece of cheese, then put it in his mouth, and poured him some wine while he chewed. Jason cocked his head. "What's this all about?" Rose smiled at him shyly. "It's about letting a man know that someone wants him to stay around for a while, that she would like to be more than just a casual liaison, and that she is hoping that there are feelings on the other side that are equally as strong." Jason regarded her in silence for a long time, he chewed the meat that she feed him, and thought about what she said. "You are a very dangerous woman, Rose Miller," he told her finally. "The feelings that you stir in me are strong, stronger than anything I've felt before, and I'm not sure just what to do about them." Rose smiled at him. "No other has ever touched me as you have, it's as if your presence casts a spell over me, and drives me to obey your every command." Jason smiled at her. "Dance for me." Rose stood up, she began to move to a rhythm heard only in her head, and she kept her eyes on him. She could tell that her dancing was having an effect on him, she could see his manhood rising, and she licked her lips. Jason watched the changing shadows on her body, the way her breasts swayed with her movements, and he saw her nipples hardening. Rose looked at him with smoldering eyes. "Would you like to see something special?" Jason nodded mutely, he watched her as she sat on the couch, and leaned back against the cushions. She spread her legs wide, allowing him to look at her wet opening, and see the delicate pink flesh. He watched as she lightly stroked the other lips, watched as they swelled under her caress, and her juices began to coat her fingers. She began to tease herself with her fingers, watching him as he watched her, and she let her finger finally delve into her depths. She moaned as her passions rose higher, she began to work her finger in deeper, moving it faster and adding another to it. Her thumb began to work on the little piece of hard flesh at the top of her opening, her hips began a corkscrewing motion, and her eyes were closed as she concentrated on the pleasure. Jason watched as her body began to tremble, her juices flowed heavily, then she began to shudder and gasp as she reached her peak. He watched her as she pulled her fingers from her wetness, she looked at him through slitted eyes, she licked her lips and motioned him near her. She watched him as he stood. "This always makes me horny, I need you Jason, take me please," she whispered huskily. Jason wasted no time in mounting her, he slipped into her easily, and started a steady rhythm. Rose urged him on, she whispered graphic instructions to him, and watched as his passions raged through him. He watched her crest beneath him, then start building again, and felt his own crest approaching. Rose pulled him down onto her, she began to nip his nipples with her teeth, and felt him erupt inside her. He stayed hard, continuing to pound into her with blinding speed, and they continued until they both passed out. Rose awoke as she felt him move, she glanced at the clock, and saw that it was 5:30 AM. Jason smiled down at her as he reached for his pants. "You sure are full of surprises, Rose, and very honest about your feelings." Rose put a staying hand on his arm. "Do you have to go?" Jason looked at her in surprise. "You mean you want me to stay longer?" Rose put her arms around him. "Can you stay forever?" Jason looked into her eyes, he could see that she really wanted him to stay, and he wondered if he could do that. He kissed her softly. "I've got to go right now, I've got a few things to take care of, and a few things I need to work out." Rose nodded as she looked at the ground. "I think I understand," she answered sadly. Jason could hear the disappointment in her voice. "Does my stay mean that much to you?" She looked up at him with a tear in her eye. "It's the difference between life and death." Jason stared at her hard for a minute. "Do you know something I don't?" Rose opened her mouth to say something, but the tears started, and all she could do was sob. Jason held her until she cried herself to sleep, then lay her on the couch, covered her with a blanket and got dressed. He looked at her sleeping face for a moment, then opened the door, and disappeared into the rainy night. Rose awoke around noon, she looked around her for a minute, and remembered what had happened the night before. She called the Ranger, asked him if there were any clippings on Jason, and found out where to get a copy. She drove down into town, went to the library, and got copies of all the articles. She picked up a few supplies at the grocery, more gas for the car, and headed back up to the cabin. She read through all the articles, then prepared for Jason's last visit, and hoped that she could make a difference. About 8:00 PM she heard the Rangers' jeep pull up, she put on a house coat, and waited for him at the door. She was surprised to see that he carried a rifle with him. "What's that for?" The Ranger sighed. "Seems that the cougar ate someone's dog a couple of miles from here, so I thought I'd warn you about it, and maybe track it down." Rose felt a chill run up her spine. "Take my advise, go home tonight, and track it tomorrow." The Ranger shook his head. "Can't do that, it was okay while it was up in the hills, but now it's down in the valley and I have to take care of it." Rose looked at him hard for a moment. "You're running the same road as Jason, there will be a storm tonight, and it may be looking for another victim." The Ranger smiled. "The forecast is for fair weather tonight, checked just before I came up here, and I've got my gear as well." Rose felt a cold wind stir her hair. "Remember my words Ranger, if it starts storming, just sit down and wait for it to blow over." The Ranger stared at her for a minute. "I'll remember." She watched as he turned and left her alone. Rose set up for Jasons' arrival, she poured some wine, then sat down to wait for him. She fell asleep on the couch, dreaming of a life with him, and of children running around the cabin. She woke up when she heard footsteps on the porch, she went to the door, and opened it. Jason smiled down at her. "You look wonderful." Rose invited him in, took his wet stuff, and helped him dry off. She left him alone as she went to put on some coffee, humming softly as she worked, and she hoped that she could get him to stay. When she came back he was standing by the fire, sipping a glass of wine, and looking very thoughtful. She watched him quietly for a minute, studying the lines of his face, and the way he brushed his hair back with his hands. She drank in his looks, memorizing them against the possibility that he failed to stay, and that she would lose him to the night again. Jason looked over to where she stood, the smile on his face made her heart race, and her hands trembled. His smile faded as he saw the worried look in her eyes. "What's worrying you, Rose?" as he moved towards her. Rose shook her head as a tear fell, his arms encircled her, and held her as tears fell silently. When the tears finally stopped she looked up at him. "I'm so afraid of losing you." Jason looked down at her. "Now why would that be?" Rose held him tightly. "I think I love you," she replied softly. Jason lifted her chin so he could look into her eyes. "I'm glad, just so happens that I love you, pretty lady," he answered with a chuckle. Rose gave herself over to his kiss, she felt his hands on her body, and surrendered to his lovemaking. He took his time caressing her, building the fire within her, and quenching it with his own. Her body glowed with the love they shared, she gave to him everything she had, and her returned it to her along with his love. It was a long time before they finally sank to the rug, totally exhausted, and glowing with satisfaction as they curled up together. Jason looked around the cabin, he studied everything as if seeing everything for the first time, and he was curious about some of the things he saw. He looked down at the woman in his arms, wondering what she was doing here alone, and without any obvious protection. He slipped away from Rose, stood up and went to get the coffee from the kitchen. He stopped as he looked at all the unfamiliar stuff he saw, he poured the coffee into the pot she had set up, and looked around the kitchen. He walked over to the refrigerator, opened it to see what it was, and was surprised to see all the food in there. He pulled out some things, prepared some food for them, and put it on the tray. He smiled when he saw what looked like a newspaper article, picked it up, and started reading. The smile left his face when he saw his name, he read the story, and the other articles that were with it. He sat there stunned for a minute, then picked up the tray, and went back into the living room. Rose stirred when the smell of coffee assailed her, she opened her eyes to his smiling face, and returned his smile. He poured a cup for her, handed it to her when she sat up, and took a sip of his own coffee. Rose sighed happily after she took a sip. "You are one hell of a man, I'm surprised that you're not married, or at least have a couple of women chasing you." Jason chuckled. "Been too busy to think about getting a wife with the ranch and all, but I've given it some thought, and I wouldn't mind finding me a wife." Rose nodded as sipped at her coffee. "Have anyone in mind?" Jason chuckled. "Actually I do, a very special young lady I happen to know, and very intelligent as well." Rose glanced at his smiling face. "So when are you going to ask her?" Jason chuckled. "Well, I figure she smart enough to know the question even though not spoken." Rose chuckled. "Maybe she wants to hear it, most women love to hear their man ask them, and generally answer immediately," Jason nodded, he knew she was aware of what he eluded to, but she decided that she wanted to hear him say it. Jason knelt by her side on one knee, he took her hands in his, and kissed her tenderly. He looked into her loving eyes. "This humble man asks this beautiful woman to be his wife, to share her time with him, and become a part of me." Rose smiled up at him. "I would love to be your wife, to share your life, and be there for you always." Jason smiled at her. "I never thought it would be possible for a person to love a ghost," he said pointedly. Rose looked down at her cup. "I take it you saw the articles?" Jason nodded. "I saw them when I went after the coffee, things have changed a lot, and I'm not even sure what year it is." Rose swallowed hard, "It's 1994, you've been dead about 110 years, and many things have changed. There are cars, airplanes, coffee makers, motorcycles, electricity, television, computers, radios, telephones, and so many other things I'd like to show you." Jason smiled wryly. "Like the box that keeps food cold?" Rose nodded. "The refrigerator, the top part is the freezer, and I saw the coffee maker. Don't leave tonight, if you do I won't see you again for ten years, and I'll die of loneliness." Jason took her in his arm. "I will wait here to see what the dawn brings." Rose trembled in his arms, they both worried about what the dawn would bring, either life together, or perhaps he would disappear forever. She looked up at him with a tear in her eye. "Please, make love to me." Jason kissed her tenderly as they lay down, he took his time with her, making sure that it would last and praying that it wouldn't be the last time they made love. They continued until neither had the strength to move, then lay together entwined, and let the sleep of total satisfaction claim them. When Rose awoke it was to the sound of a Jeep horn, she slipped on her housecoat, and walked out to the porch. The Ranger smiled at her as he approached. "I wanted to thank you for your warning yesterday, I tried to get home during the storm last night, then remembered your warning and just waited it out. This morning I found I would have died if I'd gone on a couple of minutes more." Rose smiled at him. "All I did was tell you the moral of the local legend." The Ranger smiled. "Thanks again, Miss Miller. By the way, that's a nice horse you have, but I don't recognize the mark." Rose turned to look in the direction he indicated, she saw the stallion standing there cropping grass, and the color drained from her face. "The horse is not hers," came a voice from the cabin door. "It belongs to me." Both of them turned to look at the speaker, they looked at the shadow that stood in the door, and waited for it to move. The Ranger watched as the man moved forward, he saw the rifle the man carried, and felt a chill run up his back. He looked into the mans' gray-green eyes. "Jason Daniels I presume?" the Ranger said. Jason smiled. "Correct, sir. Can I do anything for you?" The Ranger shook his head. "Just came to thank the lady for the advise that saved my life, with that done I'll take my leave, and wish you folks a pleasant day," he said with a smile. Jason watched as the Ranger climbed in his Jeep, started it, and pulled away. Jason shook his head. "Damndest thing I ever saw!" Jason smiled as he looked over at Rose. "You look beautiful." Rose blushed. "And you are the best sight these tired eyes have ever seen." Rose stepped over to where he was standing. "I was worried when I woke up and you weren't there, I thought that you might have disappeared, and couldn't stay with me." Jason smiled down at her. "The most powerful force in the Universe is love, it can move mountains, tumble empires, and even give life to a ghost." Rose smiled up at him. "Shall we see if the ghost can give life to the one he loves?" Jason looked down into her eyes. "Children?" Rose nodded. "I want to be the perfect wife for you, to give you sons to carry on your name, and daughters to steal your sleep." Jason smiled down at her, then he picked her up, and carried her into the cabin. He carried her into the bedroom, set her down, and slipped the housecoat off her. He kissed her as he undressed himself, then they crawled into bed, and held each other for a moment. Jason began to caress her body, exploring every inch of her flesh, and kissing her tenderly. He mounted her when there passions were high, then moved with a rhythm that was born of their love, and they raced headlong towards completion. They collapsed together, holding each other as they basked in the afterglow, and murmuring their love for each other. -- +--------------' Story submission `-+-' Moderator contact `------------+ | story-submit@qz.little-neck.ny.us | story-admin@qz.little-neck.ny.us | | Archive site +--------------------+------------------+ Newsgroup FAQ | \ .../assm/faq.html> /
